Lariscy Brooks, Master’s of Counseling Intern
she/her/hers
Hi, I'm Lariscy! I'm so glad you're here, and I want you to know that taking this step takes real courage.
I feel honored to walk alongside kids and families during life's harder seasons, the moments that feel heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. I work from an attachment and person-centered foundation, often using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients explore the different parts of themselves and understand their feelings and reactions. I bring in play therapy with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and I use somatic practices because sometimes our bodies hold what words can't express.
I'm especially drawn to supporting clients through trauma, grief, anxiety, self-esteem struggles, neurodivergence, and big life transitions. Play is a child's first language. It's a natural way to explore and express experiences that feel too big for words.
I see therapy as a collaborative journey where acceptance and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. I want to create a space that feels warm and welcoming, where you can show up exactly as you are without judgment. Whether you're seeking growth, navigating difficult emotions, or simply need a safe place to be seen and heard, my hope is to support you as healing and connection grow.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in Montessori education and studied child development. It taught me to meet children where they are and honor their curiosity, pace, and individuality. I earned my degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Georgia.
and am currently pursuing my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University.
In my free time, I love going on walks, traveling, trying new restaurants in the Atlanta food scene, going to concerts, and getting lost in a good book, all while having a coffee in hand.
It would truly be a privilege to walk alongside you and offer a gentle, steady presence on this journey.
