Chris Jones, PhD, LCSW (he/him)
Hello and welcome! Whether you’re navigating a challenge, seeking healing, or pursuing growth, I’m here to support you with practical insights, tools and techniques tailored to your specific needs and goals.
Who I Work With
I provide individual and family therapy for teens, young adults, adults, and couples seeking support in handling life transitions, fostering professional growth, healing from traumatic experiences, managing emotions, transforming behavior patterns, and strengthening interpersonal relationships.
I enjoy working with folks from all walks of life with a variety of experiences. Some examples include:
-Health or technology professionals experiencing high stress, burnout, or the impact of organizational change on their well-being and relationships.
-Couples hoping to reconnect, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional intimacy after feeling stuck or disconnected.
-Trauma survivors working to reduce symptoms such as anxiety, hypervigilance, or emotional numbness while building a greater sense of safety and control.
-Teens and young adults navigating identity, relationships, or academic and career transitions.
-Professionals and leaders seeking balance, authenticity, and healthier ways to manage perfectionism or self-criticism.
-Individuals in major life transitions—such as divorce, loss, relocation, or career change—who want to process change and move forward with purpose.
My Approach
I take a holistic, strengths-focused approach grounded in evidence-based practices. Together, we’ll identify what matters most to you and create a plan designed to help you reach those goals.
My work is informed by evidence-based practices including: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Family Systems Therapy.
Through compassionate listening and curiosity, I’ll create a safe space for self-discovery and meaningful change.
Clinical Experience
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Georgia and Virginia. I hold a Ph.D. and Masters (MSW) in Clinical Social Work from the University of Georgia, and a B.S. in Sociology from James Madison University.
I’m intensively trained in DBT and a former DBT therapist at Hillside Hospital residential program, trained in EFT through ICEEFT’s Externship, and trained in EMDR through the Personal Transformation Institute’s SAFE somatic and attachment approach using principles of nonviolence and mindfulness.
Health and Technology Experience
My experience in health and technology brings a unique perspective to my practice, enabling me to understand how professional challenges can affect you and your relationships.
As a health professional, I served as a behavioral scientist for mental health and public health programs, including senior leadership roles at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I specialized in scaling evidence-based programs and applied research of interventions, policies, and prevention strategies.
I currently work in technology as an entrepreneur with a firm that helps organizations assess, develop, and implement their digital strategies. I support the company operations, provide guidance for our research initiatives, and serve as a mental health subject matter expert.
