Lariscy Brooks, Master’s of Counseling

she/her

Hi, I'm Lariscy! I'm so glad you're here, and I want you to know that taking this step takes real courage.

I feel honored to walk alongside kids and families during life's harder seasons, the moments that feel heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. I work from an attachment and person-centered foundation, often using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients explore the different parts of themselves and understand their feelings and reactions. For younger kids and preteens, I bring in play therapy with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and I use somatic practices including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) because sometimes our bodies hold what words can't express.

I'm especially drawn to supporting clients through trauma, grief, anxiety, self-esteem struggles, neurodivergence, and big life transitions. Play is a child's first language. It's a natural way to explore and express experiences that feel too big for words.

I see therapy as a collaborative journey where acceptance and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. I want to create a space that feels warm and welcoming, where you can show up exactly as you are without judgment. Whether you're seeking growth, navigating difficult emotions, or simply need a safe place to be seen and heard, my hope is to support you as healing and connection grow.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in Montessori education and studied child development. It taught me to meet children where they are and honor their curiosity, pace, and individuality. I earned my degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Georgia.

I am currently pursuing my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University.

In my free time, I love going on walks, traveling, trying new restaurants in the Atlanta food scene, going to concerts, and getting lost in a good book, all while having a coffee in hand.

It would truly be a privilege to walk alongside you and offer a gentle, steady presence on this journey.
