Lauren Bowling, Master’s of Counseling Intern

Therapy is a chance to create a safe space where you to be able to explore and build a life aligned with your values. Building an inner world and life that your most authentic self is proud of.

My favorite quote is “Who were you before the world told you to be?” The noise of the outside world, including family, community, and coworkers, can overshadow consistent growth. Here is your chance to take the step to learn and grow beyond the limits imposed on you.

I am passionate about working with teens, college-aged individuals, and adults dealing with self-esteem issues, social anxiety, relationship difficulties, life, and career transitions.

My hope is that I can build a therapeutic relationship where you can feel comfortable showing up for yourself and become self-compassionate. You can rewrite the narrative and the lies you have believed. The way I approach therapy is from a trauma-informed lens. Internal Family Systems work (IFS) helps clients stop engaging their shame and harsh self-judgments. Somatic therapy is a way to ground the client and allow them to connect to the present moment, to not fight against their body’s automatic responses.

My undergraduate degree is in Entertainment Industry Studies from Belmont University. Currently, I am pursuing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University with a certificate in Trauma Counseling.

Outside the therapy room, I love finding new coffee shops, going on walks, listening to early 2000’s music, and finding new ways to be creative.
