BeCa Fisk, Master’s of Counseling Intern

she/her/hers

I love envisioning therapy as co-creation. Both the therapist and the client are bringing parts of our true selves into the room, and we desire to interact in a way that makes something new and beautiful.

I picture the therapy room as a holding environment the way a loved one holds a baby. It is a containing space that is safe enough for rest, emotions, and needs. It is a privilege to be a witness to and a co-creator in that environment with clients.

I love working with folks to discover what parts of our past are still impacting us today… discovering the “un-past.” Through exploring the former parts of ourselves or our old stories that still feel frustratingly present with us today, we can grieve and release those old stories and begin to write new ones.

I love being a therapist because I love sitting with people in honesty. We can’t escape that life is hard, but we don’t have to face it alone. While I would love to have a magic wand to wave away life’s difficulties, what I actually offer is to journey into the wildness of this experience together and to greet growth and change with you.

Therapy can empower us to change and empowering things can feel scary! It is helpful to remember that remaining unchanged is exhausting in a diminishing way. Being empowered to grow might be exhausting and terrifying, but it is the most beautiful way forward.

If you are interested in co-creating or exploring a new way of being, it would be a privilege to be present in your journey. Let’s talk and find out if we’re a good fit!
