Beth Keener Dent, MS
Hi, I’m Beth. If you’re here, something in your life likely isn’t working the way you want it to—and you’re ready for that to change. I offer collaborative, active therapy focused on helping you create meaningful shifts in your day-to-day life.
In our sessions, you won’t just talk about what’s hard—you’ll learn how to move through it. Together, we slow things down to notice what’s happening beneath the surface, identify the stories and beliefs shaping your experience, and begin to shift them in ways that feel authentic and sustainable. You’ll leave sessions with practical tools you can use right away, helping you build momentum between appointments rather than starting over each week.
My approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). In practice, that means we work on building skills to regulate emotions, increasing flexibility in how you respond to life, understanding different “parts” of yourself, and reshaping the narratives that may be keeping you stuck. Change happens through a combination of insight, practice, and support—and we focus on all three.
I work with individuals and couples across identities and life stages, tailoring our work to what matters most to you. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all; it evolves as you do. I view the counseling relationship as a partnership, where your goals guide the process and we adjust together to create the most effective and meaningful experience possible.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent 18 years working in the entertainment industry, performing across the country and abroad. That background continues to inform my work today—I believe deeply in the power of storytelling and use it to help clients reshape how they understand themselves and their lives.
I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. I practice under the supervision of Nina Wolverton MA, LMFT, LPC.
